Today, Google and Verizon Wireless announced a partnership in which the two companies will work together to develop and sell handsets based on the Android platform. While this announcement focuses on smartphones (PDAs that also have cell phone capabilities), I am still excited about the commitment to innovation and furthering PDA functionality. I’ll be anxious to see what comes of this partnership and the new devices that result. Current Verizon Wireless customers who desire the combination of a PDA and a phone combined into one device should be able to take advantage of new devices in a few short weeks. Follow me on Twitter.
