  As part of a multi-track effort to remain a leader in journalism innovation, The Takeaway teamed up with WDET Detroit Public Radio experiment in connecting journalists and underrepresented communities through mobile phones. The goal was to see if we could build those station-community connections using basic texting to better cover issues and stories in Takeaway cities. The result, in one day, was six real-world texting projects. See the video for more. This project is funded by a grant to The Takeaway from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

  Droid Running 2.1 with Live Wallpap...
  Motorola Droid running a ported version of Android 2.1 from the upcoming Nexus One. The OS is still a bit buggy as it was not intended for the Motorola Droid and was just ported a few days ago. There are updates to the OS that the community has applied over the passed few days. It just keeps getting better. The live wallpapers is a nice addition but still a bit slow for my taste. I definitely needs to be optimized to be used on the Droid. Leave some comments.
